Knocking on Heaven's Door (Example)

              G / /               D / /            Am / /             C / /

             o o o         x x o              x o         o      x      o   o
         ========      ========      ========      ========
         | | | | | |       | | | | | |       | | | | 1 |       | | | | 1 |
  ||:   | 1 | | | |       | | | 1 | 2      | | 2 3 | |       | | 2 | | |      :||
         2 | | | | 3       | | | | 3 |       | | | | | |       | 3 | | | |

Play each chord, two strums each (as indicated by the / /).   A trick here is when you move from A m (minor) to C (major), all you have to do is move your third finger, let the other fingers stay in place.

You don't strum the strings that have an 'x' on them.  The 'o' means that the string is left open and it is not muted by a finger.

Repeat:   Whatever is between these two symbols:  ||:  and :|| is repeated once.   This is a short cut used in notation to save space.

For this song, these four chords are repeated throughout for the verses and the chorus.
